In high school I had GPA 2.8 SAT 1160, but I also attended Governor's School for the Performing arts, "Job Shadowed" with the Virginia Beach Municipal Center for 40 hours, Interned with a ton of local judges for my junior and senior year, and i taught vietnamese people how to speak english. Also my essay was "ballin" Not to hard to get into if you are an active kid.

Average SATs, good grades, some extra-curricular and you should be good. Make sure to write a good essay. Nowadays they could potentially serve as the only deciding factor in applying to almost any college.

I just filled out the application, sent in the money, and wrote a little essay on how much I liked biology in high school and how I enjoyed sketching nature and going on field walks. I didn't really have to do anything special (although I have a GPA of 3.45 which may have helped; although my SATs were lower than the average score). I think it is much, much easier to get into SUNY Binghamton than people will probably give you the impression.
